happy Oscar the Cat story

Those of you who know us well know that we are animal lovers, and that our family includes three cats, three dogs, three fire bellied toads and two red crabs (recent additions).  I found this link to the video in the comments section of the NPR story and had to share it.  It's just a great, happy story.  Worth noting - this has never been done before, and could lead to major advances in human prosthetics.  I can't wait to see how well he moves once he gets used to his new feet!

Cool new technology...

Here's a good example of what makes our kids so cool.

Yesterday, while going through Tracy's stash of 1970s comic books, Beanie came across this one.

"Look, Daddy!" she said. "He's making the 'I love you' sign with his hand!"

Pook and Bean are talking about the kids at after school care a year ago. Bean said, "probably the only people I remember are the boys!"

Indeed. 8-)

Happy Birthday Bitty!

Just like Bitty keeps saying, I "can't believe" he is five years old today!  Bitty is the one who brings balance to the force in our home.  He plays equally well with either of his sisters, defuses their arguments, and is just a joy to be around.  Here are some pictures of Bitty over the years.  What a cutie!

When we chose May 1st as Beanie's birthday, we had no idea that being born on May Day would fit her so well.  If Pookie is the lamb of Spring, Beanie is definitely the lion - full of passion, exxcitement, and happiness!
