Brave Little Pookster

After lots of worrying over whether we are damaging our precious Pook by not sending, or sending, her to public school, we finally made the decision to enroll her in kindergarten at Lake Travis Elementary. Today is Pook's first day of school! She has been looking forward to it for a few weeks. Yesterday, though, she decided she wasn't quite ready.
Pook: "But I thought I was going to school in four days."
Me: "It's been four days. Now it's tomorrow!"
Pook: "But I thought I was going on Monday!"
Me: "Tomorrow is Monday."
Pook (mournfully): "I don't wanna go to school."
She was excited this morning though, and woke me up at 5 am to make her breakfast. I stayed with her in the classroom for about ten minutes, and then when it was time for a bathroom break, I sent her to join the line of kids...and take her first step into the outside world. And then I went to the car and cried.

Pookie looks like such a big girl. Hard to believe it has been over 5 years since we spent that first night at the hospital. I want to cry too.

I can not believe she is so big!
Love y'all Robynn
P.S. it will not get easier as they get older and it is the same for all of your children, and if they tell you it does they are telling BIG stories.
